ANOTHER SCENE IN THE EVENING SKY (PT. 1)
Insights on ANOTHER SCENE IN THE EVENING SKY (PT. 1):
“Effects are instruments in their own right, and the reverb program I designed sounded nostalgic, to me. After the sun had set, the lights went on, a girl was transfixed by her view, and a police officer hurried towards danger, the space above opened up and exhaled. Like a sigh, the reverb trails off, and the opening filter of the lone synth colored the evening sky in a final fade out.
“It marks a sort of conclusion, I suppose, to a series of vignettes that form OF(F) COURSE, which start on the road and in romance, only to fade into an evening moodiness. It’s a film we produced in sound and ambience, and this track marks both the wrapping and unfolding of one of L.A.’s countless stories. With the sound here, we went for something simple… the appreciation of a simple melody and the beauty of a filter opening and closing, as a sizzling reverb releases its highest notes.”
